Windy day and a big perch.

Windy day and a big perch.

2. oktober 2015 By Erik Walmann

Perch fishing was planed it should be strong wind from the west but when i came closer to my fishing spot it was south!! Shiit my lake is south to north so no hiding areas.

So i went closer to land and serch for something to fish on and there is no grass in the lake so i need structure ore old trees that are sunken in the water.

2-3m otside off this old tree i found baitfish, some perch. was not happy with the size so i left.

Time was running away so i stoped for a late lunch something i need to do more a good lunch keep the focus high the  whole day.

After a short brake i hade only 1 option and it was to go to my nr1 spot catch alway fish there and it is wind protected. But the sizes is normaly small but what can i do.

Started with dropshot and drive slow with the minkota. To check the spot got some small perch, i see perch on the sonar and alot off baitfish so i need to find out what they want to strike on becuse  dropshot was not the thing today.

Start to cast some plastic lure and nothing change speed size close to bottom no they dont strike. Go back to dropshot again get some small perch. Then i go back to casting this time with a Gumi Boggie Craw and a lighter jighead. And Boom. first cast a super nice perch 46cm and in good condition.
